reading kinda weather ....

so i know that i have been bragging about our beautiful weather, because seriously it has been stunning! Yesterday however, it got cold (for us anyway, we are very soft here) and it has been raining raining, raining .... and it is nice for the garden. However .... no sunlight completely kills my motivation and makes me want to eat and sleep and read! not a bad thing ... but this is exactly why we live here, cause 90% of the time the sun in shining and it totally makes me function differently! I dug deep yesterday and went for a run (in between rain showers - it would have been SO easy not to go)

i have done some scrapbooking this week ... yay! i seriously have alot of photos from this year - so its wonderful to get some pages into my album. I had another delivery of new heidi product yesterday ... so fun! it is definitely helping me in the creative dept!

tonight is family movie night ... the girls so love it! they look forward to friday nights ... i still haven't decided what we are eating yet, last week we had nacho's - so good!

and I SPY ... my favourite shoes at the moment!

beautiful one day, perfect the next ....

today we finally went to Moreton Island .... Tangalooma actually (well the beach out the front) It really is a gorgeous place and i can't wait to go back again. My aunty and uncle are boating people, and love getting out on the water ... they had their new boat and asked us out today to enjoy the beautiful queensland weather with them. It was perfect for boating! sunny, still, gorgeous!

Moreton Island has some of the largest sand dunes ever ... we can actually see them from our house, so it was pretty cool getting to the top of one ... i will never look out my kitchen window at them
the same way again! lol! they are much steeper than what they appear ... of course Emra was up first, like a shot! i got total leg burn ... it was tough, i guess that is why i am about to go to bed ... i am totally flaking!

nerdy fun ....

i love weekends so much ... i love being with my family, and not having to do normal jobs/chores! i love the change of pace (even if saturday is still busy)

on friday night we had family movie night, we watched Surfs Up ... so cute, i think gary and i loved it more than the kids - i wish i could surf as well as that penguin! lol!

on saturday night we had a dinner party at friends house, we have this group of us that have turns hosting a dinner party, so once a year you get to host it (last year we did black and white) this one was a "games" night, so we played Boulderash, Pictionary, Battle of the Sexes, Fact or Crap ... it was so fun. They had totally gone to the utmost detail ... it was awesome. We had scrabble letters (in chocolate) as our place names ... so cool and yummy! it was boys against girls so each time

the team scored a point golden chocolate coins were put into piggy banks to be counted at the end of the night! They had prizes along the way too ...

So the girls won ... i mean, what did you really expect! lol

Friday happiness ....

i love fridays ... maybe its because its the edge of the weekend and fun coming. Or it could be because its my day of the week that i have some peace and quiet, some space to myself .... I went swimming this morning and even tho it was an effort, it is such a gorgeous day it was so nice to be in the water. Our weather has been nothing but spectacular at the moment - we are so lucky!
I have a few things to share ... i finally picked up the ceramics we did in the holidays, they turned out so nice.

I got some money for my birthday and i bought this cupcake stand, i have wanted one for ages ... so it makes me happy looking at it. My sister gave me this gorgeous high tea plate for my birthday also ... i need to make some gorgeous food to use them!

I am taking Alison Tyler Jone's Photography class online ... i am learning so much and have been practising my photography. I took some photos of Daisy yesterday ... she is nearly one, hard to believe where the time has gone.

happy mothers day to me ....

its a sweet day ... mother's day! its so nice to see the excitement and love from the girls! i am so lucky!

My mum will have to wait a few more days before she gets her mother's day card as that was the class i taught on tues for Freestyle Designs.

we have had a fabulous weekend at the Sunshine Coast, we stayed there as the girls had a dancing competition throughout the weekend! we scored this cool house right opposite the beach .... so nice seeing the surf! I was lucky enough to go for another surf today and had a ball ... got some great waves! i had so much fun ....

35 today ....

its hard to believe that i have been alive for 35 years, it doesn't feel like it! I have had a fabulous day ... it started with my gorgeous family giving me a cup of tea in bed and then an omlette ... cooked by gary the famous omelette chef! he really does do a cracker omlette! the girls were so cute they pretended to be waitresses .... so sweet! Gi sat up in bed next to me and enjoyed the silver service as well ... so cute.

I had morning tea with one of my dear friends, it was lovely to spend some time together. then Gary, Gianna and I went for lunch at Jam (a great little cafe which does delicious food) before i jumped on a plane and heade to Sydney to meet my dear friend Suzanne. In between i had a couple of sweet friends go out of their way to give me gifts and i totally felt completely and utterly spoilt! i am really lucky! the girls gave me Peter Alexander PJ's - they are gorgeous, and a sleeping patch for my eyes ... its in lepord skin, very cute! anyone who knows me well - knows that i am a bad sleeper and i need a sleeping patch and ear plugs .... seriously i am a nana! Suzanne gave me a Pandora bracelet .. it is so stunning, i love it so much ... she had planned with gary, and he had planted a charm from the girls in my bag, so sweet! i keep look at it ... i love it!

We went to Cafe Sydney for dinner .... the food is seriously devine, every mouthful was sensational! so lucky! the view is spectacular! each time i have been there i have just wanted time to stand still ... i guess that is the sign of a good time! I really feel very blessed.

family fun ....

the weather here is simply stunning at the moment ... we are so lucky! We had another long weekend (two in a row ... yippee) so decided we had to make the most of it and packed up and went camping. After our last experience with our pre-kids tent - it was time to UPGRADE! and being the researcher that he is ... gary went into full tent analyising mode .... well, he did a good job! the tent was fabulous! we had our own room and the kids had theirs - that made a big difference! We have alot to learn about what to take and what NOT to take ... the girls had WAY too many clothes, so next time we are totally cutting down! gary forgot our main camping box wtih all the cutlery and bits and pieces in it, so we had to buy plastic plates etc. so now all our camping gear is stored together in the garage ready for next time (and so it can't be forgotten!) the beach was gorgeous ... and at Dicky Beach there is a shipwreck on the beach - very funky, esp for taking pics!

i got out surfing both sunday and yesterday ... it was awesome. the water was so clear you could see little fish swimming and jumping - so cool. i had such a fun time surfing - it was perfect size for me and i caught heaps and heaps of rides ... such a buzz!

we met this cool Canadian family from Alberta (yes my canadian blogging friends ... what a small world) so they are going to come stay with us in brisbane before they leave to go home in June - that will be so fun)

ok .. i am rushing .. have a Mother's Day Card to teach today .. sorry mum your card will be late because of this! better fly - have to do the girls hair etc before we leave!

pink poodle cake ....

so that little tradition that is being passed down with the birthday cakes happened today for Emra's birthday. (my sister also makes the birthday cakes ... she does awesome creations for my nephews)

em is an animal lover and so its no surprise she picked this pink poodle for her cake. as you can see there are plenty of marshmellows on it ... i actually ran out of them.

i loved how it turned out, so much that i didn't really want them to eat it! LOL! of course we did tho! she had fun with her friends.

Excited about the new Design Team goodies i recieved today ... have been playing with them tonight!

birthday fun ...

when someone i love has a birthday ... it makes me happy! I love trying to make their day super special ... maybe its something my mother has passed on to me, she always made an effort to make our day special - we could choose our favourite dinner and desert - mine was usually roast chicken and chocolate pudding. and we would often get a specially made birthday cake (usually in a theme - i had a piano one year! cool!) so this year em is getting a pink poodle cake ... i will post photos later this week! She requested lasanga and chocolate mousse ... it was yum!

We were away for her birthday, it was a long weekend here ... and we went to a beautiful resort. they have this amazing pool there which is salt water and it has real live fish in it ... so you swim around, snorkling like you would out in the ocean ... its really really cool!

the craftonline design team for this month is up, i did that cute crown frame ... you can see it all here. the clear albums are so cool ... and very addictive!

I also FINALLY finished this project which i started about 2 years ago (maybe longer ... so bad) its one of those things i put aside and never got back to ... well after cleaning up my scrapbook desk, i decided to finish off all these little projects. it is really cute, and i like how we all had input into our standards and our goals for our family!

i have banana bread cooking ... the smell is filling the whole house and making me hungry ... time it eat i think!

Thanks katie for this link ... i am determined to improve my typing speed now! lol! I guess 8pm on a sat night is not the best time to be trying this .. anyway, its quiet interesting!

half way thru the weekend already ... today i have been running around after the girls, their social lives seem to be picking up at great speeds! i am definitely a taxi now ... so its nice to sit down now, knowing i don't have to get up again and get in the car! lol!

again the week seems to have gone so fast .... i guess its just a busy stage of life. Gianna has been a little sick, so she was here on thurs and fri having quiet time ... there seems to be sickness around at the moment!

We had friends for dinner last night ... it always makes the weekend feel a little longer when you do something on fri night and i felt like cooking some nice food, however i had to get up to gi a few times, so i am starting to feel a bit weary now. I guess i'll sleep well tonight.

busy times ....

life has been full tilt lately! last week with school holidays and full days doing things with the girls! it was fun! We decided on a whim to go camping on Sat, so packed up and headed off ... the weather was stunning and we had a camp site right on the beach front - perfect! the sleeping arrangements weren't so fabulous ... but what do you expect from your pre-kids tent ... hmmm! lesson learnt .... that will not be happening again! lol!

I took alot of photos which was good practise, as i am taking Alison Tyler Jone's online photography class ... its so awesome and i feel so inspired to improve my photography, the weekend was awesome to play.

We had a movie night at church on Sunday night, it went off really well we had about 100 people. we had Rataouille which is a cute movie. I was really super tired after our camping, so just hung in there.

Monday was big clean up day, i fully kicked butt ... with washing, cleaning, folding, food shopping, baking ... oh my, i was done by last night! so nice having a clean house tho! i also got my order from scrapbook.com of new heidi product ... so excited about that!

The girls were back to school today ... so i am feeling like things are slowing back down a bit now, i have alot of work to catch up on, but by the end of the week i should be in better shape!
i saw a darling friend of mine today who cut Gianna's hair, after all the head lice issues a few weeks back her hair was a bit dried out and needed a chop! looks so much healthier now!

High School Musical on Ice ...

Wow .... what an awesome show! Tonight the girls and i went and saw it ... it was fabulous! i loved every minute ... it totally exceeded my expectations! the girls were so cute - they were super excited ... and emra was up dancing through out the show (it was priceless)

Its been a busy week with school holidays ... i have had a few things on the go for the girls! yesterday we went skating ... so fun! i went too and am sporting a big bruize on my knee as i took a fall (opps) it is so fun to rollerskate again after so many years!

today we went to the ceramics studio and did some painting. I did alot of ceramics painting when katya was little, and i haven't done it for so long. Katya did a mug, emra did a little dog and i did a plate for gianna - we will pick them up in a weeks time once they have fired them.

I also gave my scrapbook desk an overhaul thru the week! my friend sent me some photos of her space and i totally walked into my room and was like "this is such a mess" so then got a bee in my bonnet about it .... so i am so happy it is nice and organised again! the challenge is .... to keep it this way! (bear in mind that my area is shared with the laundry ... but i am happy, at least i have my own little corner!)

It bought back some memories this morning, katya made piklets by herself ... my sister and i used to cook all the time (even tho it completely stressed mum out ... ay mum!) she was so proud of herself!
