cute little bag ...

i just had to share this ... i made it from Kim's online class that i just signed up for. I didn't really know what it would be like ... there are 3 projects so far and they are cool, this is the first ... its so cute, i love it! I am going to make one each for my girls for Christmas ... they come with a little note pad and pencil inside (i haven't done that yet)

you would think i would be over sewing after all the costumes i have been creating! lol!

seems i have a new found relationship with my sewing machine ... ha!

christmas cake ...

i made my christmas cake last week ... i don't know why i don't make fruit cake thru the year, maybe cause only Gi and i eat it ... but i love having christmas cake, its so yum! perfect with a cup of tea! I had a baking day on saturday, and made a chocolate cake, cookies and christmas mince tarts ... so there is seriously a delicious array of treats in our house right now ... i guess that is my motivation for running - LOL!

we have been having a fun feastive season (already) another christmas party on saturday night, this one was themed Hawaiian ... oh man it was so fun, the hosts went ALL out and it was amazing, i will have to try and get some pics so i can post them!

i did this LO the other night ... i haven't scrapbooked just for fun ... for the longest time. I am so into silver right now, so decided to spray paint the white cardstock silver ... i really love it.

My deck of me card this week = week 47, the prompt is "my happy place" ... which happens to be the beach - those of you who know me would know that already .... gary and i have spent many many hours at the beach over our time together, either windsurfing, surfing or kiting .... its part of who we are.

today ...

i had a project class with Kathy .... we are really enjoying teaching, and its grown to a constant number each class. We are excited about what we can do next year already ... good to have plans in advance. We did christmas projects today ... i did this christmas decoration (for the past few years i have done a family decoration each year) kathy did these cute cubes with the word J O Y on them ... i have started some, so when i get done i will post a pic, they are fun to alter.

It is 5 weeks until christmas today ... isn't that amazing! i was thinking as i was driving this morning ... just how fast this year has gone!

This next LO i did a couple of months ago, for a blogging friend who had her 3rd baby. It was complied into an album and given to her (from lots of different contributors - such a cute idea)

and finally .... two lots of Deck of Me cards ... seen as i didn't get around to posting last weeks ones, i just seem to run out of time to blog these days!

Last week 45 the prompt was Self Realisation ... for me, this is that where i am RIGHT NOW, is where i want to be. I think especially i feel in our marriage. I have friends who have only just got married and it takes me back to those days, and how little we really knew about each other ... we seem to have learnt so so so much, and are in a much happier, wiser place. as much as my wedding day was one of the most happiest days of my life, i wouldn't want to start over!

This week 46 the prompt is REJUVENATE .... how do you rejuvenate. with my sewing machine i stitched a velum pocket on this card ... then stamped it

busy, busy, busy ....

so i have alot on my plate right now, the main and most time consuming of these this week is the 7 dancing costumes that had to be completed (by tomorrow) for the girls dancing concert dress rehersal! seriously i should photograph these outfits i've been hand stitching all week! I am impressed that i have actually achieved other things as well as this huge feet!

Gianna started kindy on Monday ... oh my, she is so excited about it.

we got to the beach last weekend too ... i was meaning to post photos but i guess the week went too fast. We went out windsurfing, hadn't been out for ages ... so so fun! Gary had an altercation with the life savers however, after his uni joint snapped and the current started dragging him out .... it was all good tho! lucky they were there!

I finished this circle journal this week too ... so fun to be a part of this circle journal - i really loved seeing the difference in each one as they arrive. As you can tell i am really into silver right now - which is what i spray painted this one with! love it!

I am apart of a christmas card swap too .. and this is the card i did for that. I will get 5 different cards back ... so fun!

Our class this week for Y2R was an advent calender ... it turned out so cool ... i love it! each day has a little something for our family to do! this makes up the bottom portion of my calender ... i'm already excited about christmas now! we have already had a christmas party to go to ... i guess the festivities are starting earlier this year!

I haven't scanned my card from Deck of Me, so will do it with my one for next week .... or i'll never get this posted! i have done it tho!

Friday already ....

i cannot believe how fast this week has gone .... i know i keep saying that, but seriously!

we have a christmas party to go to tonight ... is that insane or what????? i guess people are just getting in early!

i have had a couple of fun things happen this week, firstly my heidi swapp order came on wed ... so happy to see that with tonnes of cool stuff

last nights class was to do this cute Recipe Book ... i love the idea so much, of course anyone that knows me well - knows how important food is in my life ... LOL! so this will get put to good use!

and today my Swapp cards arrived from our Y2R card swap - these are seriously so cool and they totally made my day! i just love looking at them - it was so fun to be apart of.

melbourne cup ....

so today is the Melbourne Cup and its a bit of a deal here in australia! Melbourne have a public holiday (half their luck) and the rest of the country celebrate by having lovely lunches, dressing up or even going to the races. This morning we decided to make it a family affair and put $2 each person on a horse for fun, so seen as we are not gamblers and not encouraging it ... rather just having fun we decided to pick our birthday dates ... well, there are not 27 horses so emra had to pick her age (much to gary's annoyance as his horse for #5 was a shocker - apparently!) Emra's horse came in to win tho, and she picked up $48 ... how funny!

I went to a Melbourne Cup Lunch, which was devine, 3 courses ... i was so full when i left .... we had two sweeps going, and i got 2nd ... which was a fluke too as my other two horses were scratched ... funny! so all in all a fun day. We have a friend staying tonight, so we opted for Thai takeaways tonight ... lucky me, no cooking! and its so delicious ... this new place has moved in just down the street ... so great as its authentic thai and super yummy! uh oh!

time capsule ....

this months Art Challenge for our Y2R class is very very cool. It is a time capsule. We were given homework ... to write letters to special people in our lives (or ourselves - or both) to be read in 5 years time. And the LO we did is made up of a variety of envelopes to house them all ... its very awesome, i love it! Here is my one i finished it last night (i love to do them straight away then i have my calender page to look at ALL month!)

This week has gone so very fast! i am in a spin as to the fact it is friday! wow!

Am trying to think of what i've done, but generally life is just busy with this being the last term of school.

So its taken me this long to post my Deck of Me card for this week ... week 43. The theme this week to follow halloween was "Scary" and seen as we don't celebrate halloween, i guess my scary thought instantly was how fast time is going! this year is racing ....

they say time flies when you are having fun ... lucky for me i'm having fun! LOL!

my day off ....

so part of our Year to Remember class this month was to have a "day off" .... organise whatever you had to to go and enjoy a day to yourself. Look i'll be honest with you .... initially i really struggled with the idea! i guess i have had kids at home with me for 9 years ... and the thought i taking a day to myself, well ... i don't think about it! LOL!

So on Oct 25th (i know it took me almost all month to do it) i organised myself, and had my DAY OFF! actually all week i was looking forward to it ... and to be honest, i was so much more productive because i had a goal i was working toward. I was totally on top of everything come thurs to put the surf board on the car and head up the coast to the beach for the day to go surfing. I went by myself ... it was liberating! I had the music up LOUD ... really LOUD cause i am a bad singer, and it sounds better if i don't hear my voice LOL! i went out for a surf .... for 2 hours! i caught heaps of waves ... even dropped in on one - so happy about that! i still have alot of learning to do ... but it was such a gorgeous day, and i really loved being out there, not thinking about the time, or who was on the beach, or anything but having FUN! then i came up had a quick shower and went to the cafe on the beach (i mean right on the beach overlooking the other surfers still out there - awesome) and ordered lunch, and read a magazine! so nice! then called into the LSS shop up there, which happens to be a wikid shop .... bought some papers and a few bits and pieces and headed home - with the music up LOUD again! i was really tired ... but it was such a good tired .... i had a wonderful day! i am thinking i might have to do this more often! winK!

so i have finished a couple more pages in my surfing journal ....

Hairspray ....

today was a teacher only day at school ... it was awesome to have this today after a busy weekend out and about. Yesterday we headed up the river on the ferry ... i was seriously tired last night, and was in bed super early!

so the girls were so good today, i was behind with my work and HAD to do some today ... they painted and played dress ups ... i seriously couldn't have asked for better behaviour ... i took them to see Hairspray after lunch as a reward. The big girls have been wanting to see if for ages, and they were super excited. It was my second time ... i really really love the movie! i am going to have to get it when it comes out!

This weeks Deck of Me card is about being Greatful. Each day to remember something to be greatful for. such a great thing to do ... i totally believe in taking time to appreciate what we have in our lives!

I used heidi's journalling spots and attached them with a brad, so it would spin ... and i can write on each day!

I finished my surfing journal cover ... and the first 2 pages, i am in love with Basic Grey paper right now ... how cool is this surfing paper! my fav of course! will have to try get out for a surf next weekend!

time flies ....

since school has gone back, i seriously am loosing track of the days! i knew this term would be busy ... seen as we are on our way to Christmas now, but i didn't expect it to happen so fast! there seems to be so many things on the go, the girls are practising for their dancing concert which means i have already started sewing for the 8 costumes i am going to have to have done .... (tryin not to focus on this too much .... it does my head in if i do - LOL) although this year i have a new plan, and so far i am on track! YAY!

my brother and sister-in-law are here at the moment, so the house is buzzing with the excitement from the kids. and my bro is just a big kid anyways ... so he is the one probably that needs containing - LOL! we played poker last night ... it was so funny, gary and i were borrowing chips from the bank .. we really sucked at it badly! blair and lisa had all the chips ... we might have to re-match tonight and win back our credibility! lucky we weren't playing for money! shoot that would have been bad! we would have been broke!

If you had a magic carpet where would you go .... i would go snowboarding! anywhere is fine actually, its so fun ... i would want gary to squeeze onto my carpet too, its more fun to snowboard with someone!

In our Year to Remember class we are doing a "photo a day" challenge .... we made this flip album to display our photos (i used basic grey paper which i so love) its so cute, i love it! i am really enjoying taking the photos each day too, and on the back there is room to journal which is so cool! this is my photo for day 5 of Daisy ... she's getting so big!

Next week we are doing a project class for Freestyle Designs, my project is a photo cube - here is a sample one i did up!

i have just finished decorating Katya's birthday cake ...

seriously i have made the biggest mess in the kitchen .... but it turned out cute. I had an altercation with the pre-made icing .... so its a bit patchy in places .... but i am tired, and i needed it to be finished ... so that is that!

this picture of Daisy was taken at the beach on Sunday ... her first outing! so exciting! we went to the beach on sat ... check out the water, it was so beautiful. i got out for another surf ... it was really cool, i am hooked for sure ... i am hanging for my next surf!
